Unfortunately, since some years, slower pace defenders tend to almost always improperly jockey/shuffle in FIFA, mainly when using Slow Pace setting. Sounds like you had an issue with passing which the cpu really pounced on in this game with counter attacks which leads to your players constantly getting pulled out of positions.
