I think it could be a perfect blend of Saturday morning Monster of the Week cartoons held within a seasonal story arc typically seen in anime that would cover each game every season or two. Leaning more on the fantasy side (magic, talking animals, Summons), but with sci-fi elements (the Gummi ship, the World That Never Was screams sci-fi to me).
